Who we are

At Juniper Physical Therapy, we're here to help you feel your best, offering personalized care to get you back to doing the things you love. Whether it's recovering from an injury or managing a chronic condition, we are committed to supporting your journey to better health.

Our WHY

It’s simple. Because we can do better. As an athlete herself, Alyssa has alway felt the drive to help others on their healing journeys. With one on one care for an hour, Alyssa can really listen and personalize care without treatment being dictated by insurance companies. She can help you get to the root causes of pain, thinking outside the box and help you develop a plan to keep you moving.

Specialties

  • Alyssa is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, having undergone extensive training and certification tests. She has over 10 years of experience working in this field. She particularly enjoys working with post-operative patients, supporting them through their healing journey.

  • Alyssa thrives working with the sports specific population, and has worked with athletes ranging from marathon runners to ultimate frisbee players, to outdoor enthusiasts such as hikers and skiers/snowboarders. She previously worked at Kaiser San Francisco’s Sports Center.

  • Although she has always enjoyed working with female athletes, Alyssa became much more interested in pelvic physical therapy after her first pregnancy in 2022 and her journey to stay active and feel good in her own body. Alyssa is trained in additional internal pelvic manual techniques from Herman and Wallace.

Alyssa specializes in treating the athlete throughout the lifespan, and particularly likes working with folks navigating pregnancy and postpartum.

More about Dr Alyssa

Alyssa completed her doctor of Physical Therapy at UC San Francisco/San Francisco State University in California in 2013. Upon graduating, she spent 3.5 years living and working in New York City at a busy outpatient orthopedic practice. She then practiced in San Francisco beginning in 2017 and then moved to Seattle in 2022. Alyssa has a special interest in treating post-operative and sports cases. She is an orthopedic clinical specialist. After the birth of her son, she became more passionate about pregnancy and postpartum care.

In her free time, she loves hiking and camping  with her partner Jordan, son Jackson, and her two pups Baxter and Olive. During winter she is an avid snowboarder, and does yoga, pilates, and weightlifting to keep active and fit throughout the year.

She understands that the rehabilitation process can be difficult, and strives to provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based care to her patients.

What folks are saying

  • Extremely well-versed in both the art and science of physical therapy and bodywork, Alyssa possesses extensive industry knowledge, and an understanding of the human body’s interconnectedness that far exceeds the “demonstrate & assign exercise” approach we’ve come to expect and dread from those in this profession...Alyssa took the time to really listen, research and explore treatment options, and educate me in the process; I am still in awe of her ability to trace symptomatic pain and alleviate at its source. After working with Alyssa 1:1 for 6+ months and continuing to diligently follow her post-injury plan I can report that I am virtually pain-free and have returned to the activities that I love (and have so dearly missed!). I am a grateful client/uber fan of Alyssa’s for restoring my inner and outer athlete. I happily, and highly, recommend the top-notch service and support you receive at Juniper Physical Therapy

  • Alyssa continuously encouraged me to view PT as not a temporary solution but one that could actually end up saving me from a painful surgery and months of recovery. As a multisport athlete whose hobbies included high risk activities like ski mountaineering, glacier climbing and alpine climbing, as well as endurance sports such as ultra distance trail running, I was highly pessimistic about my knee health and didn't ever think I could recover to the levels I was operating at before my tear, or ever have the same level of confidence in my legs; within 3 months, the PT program that Alyssa had assigned me had my knee feeling better than it did before the tear.Another 3 months and continuous training and I was able to hike/run things that I had never been able before even with 2 fully healthy knees, and within a year I started running distances that I had never before.

  • My IT bands had for years created issues for me. I worked with Alyssa Haines to help understand the issue, explore potential root causes, and figure out how to make adjustments for a long-term fix. Alyssa has a deep and intimate understanding of human movement and connectivity; she considers the big picture and whole system before zeroing in on a diagnosis or solution. And, she has amazing hands - I always feel so much better after she works on me! After making some specific behavior changes, plus working on strengthening this area over time, my IT band pain has disappeared! Thank you Alyssa! Highly recommend her as a PT. Talented, and a joy to spend time with.
